Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) is a white or light yellow, odorless, non-toxic, fibrous or powdered solid, which is prepared from alkaline cellulose and ethylene oxide by etherification reaction and belongs to non-ionic soluble cellulose ether. HEC has been widely used in petroleum exploitation, coatings, construction, medicine and food, textile, paper-making and polymer polymerization because of its good properties of thickening, suspension, dispersion, emulsification, adhesion, film-forming, water-protecting and colloidal protection.

1. Adding appropriate amount of water directly to the mixer with hydroxyethyl cellulose.
2. Start stirring the hydroxyethyl cellulose at low speed until it is even. After stirring for 10-15 minutes, all the particles can be completely soaked.
3. Some antifungal agents or regulators can be added to improve the performance of hydroxyethyl cellulose in application.
4. After the production of hydroxyethyl cellulose is finished, we can add hydroxyethyl cellulose to other ingredients in the formula after stirring evenly, and then grind it into paint to use.

Good hydroxyethyl cellulose may be affected by fake and inferior products in price. There is not much price fluctuation. We can see the inferior quality of the product from the naked eye in some experiments. In use, we can observe the amount and effect of hydroxyethyl cellulose in the product test. Whether hydroxyethyl cellulose can be thickened in mixing is easy to see. We should also use it carefully in order to avoid purchasing fake and inferior products. Hydroxyethyl cellulose should not be considered suitable for purchasing fake and inferior products.
